Saturn Chief Executive, Mark Hiley, took the position of Chair at Broadcast Magazines conference (on TV-industry investment) held at the Institute of Directors, on March 25th.
The event, which focused on creating long-term value in television, was attended by more than 200 senior representatives from most of the industry's major production houses, distributors and broadcasters. The conference has resulted in a large number of applications to Saturn, by companies wanting advice and support.
"There has been a massive increase of investor-interest in our sector", said Mr Hiley. "And indies are rightly keen to take advantage of this, while they can. The conference's clear message was that indies should get professional help and, as the industry's only development advisors, the influx of new clients which has followed was predictable".
During the conference's session on investment, city bosses - including Kevin Grassby from Sagitta Private Equity, Sebastian McKinlay from Kleinwort Capital and Robin Lincoln from HG Capital - told Mr Hiley that the upturn of interest was set to continue for the foreseeable future, but revealed that professionally packaged and presented companies were likely to secure more interest and higher valuations.
Broadcast Magazine hosts the television industry's largest conferences, and is the UK's most popular television business magazine.
